Now, before I say anything at all about this product, I want to tell you what I think about the Rich Jerk. He is an obnoxious, arrogant, offensive, sexist slob! Now, remember I told you that, if you are a sensitive soul, because you’ll have to get used to being insulted.

That having been said, there is quite a bit of useful information in this book. I wouldn’t take it all as genuine but, if you’re just starting out, there are a few eye-opening tips and tricks in here that you might as well get to know about. And there’s some scheme where he offers you a free website but I haven’t taken him up on that so I don’t know how ‘free’ it really is.

Squidoo is one of those Web 2.0 innovations that has really taken off. What is Squidoo?

Well, it’s a way to get yourself on the web without having a website or blog. What you get is a ‘lens’ which is sort of like a blog, but not actually.

Squidoo is free to join and and you can create as many lenses as you like on different topics. You can also earn money. You can advertise your own (or other people’s) stuff and you get a share of the Adsense revenue that Squidoo makes. Here’s what they say about this:

‘Squidoo makes money from ads and affiliate links.

We give 5% of what we earn, right off the top, to charity. We keep 45% to cover our overhead and stuff.

That leaves 50%. That goes to charity or to the people who build the pages. And we leave it up to you to choose one or the other.

It’s that simple. You can earn a dollar, a nickel or a dime at a time for your favorite cause or for you.

Did we mention that Squidoo is free? Always has been’.

Squidoo lenses are also a great way to get inbound links to your blog or website because apparently the search engines love Squidoo. And Squidoo is actually quite good fun.

I like this product a lot. Don’t be put off by the hypey earnings claims because, under the hood, this is an entirely do-able strategy.

The main concept of the product is making money selling Clickbank products using Google Adwords. Yeah, I know, every second little $47 ebook claims to show you how to do that, but Commission Blueprint is different.

At the core of the product is a series of 14 videos which take you through a strategy of selecting a product, doing keyword research, designing landing pages, setting up Adwords campaigns, testing, tracking and general campaign management. These videos are very thorough and in no way underestimate the difficulties and dangers of Adwords. Google will sell clicks (at a price) to any idiot that wants to buy them, but Commission Blueprint teaches how to construct a campaign that will minimize the cost and maximize the returns. It does this by exhaustive tracking of keywords so that you know what’s profitable and what’s not.

When you’ve found a profitable campaign, there is advice on how to scale it up to get the most clicks, and most profit, possible.

This is quite a challenging approach but it is presented in a very accessible and business-like way. There is an optional monthly membership program with promises to update the program and continually add new tips and techniques. I have been very impressed with the quality and quantity of the material on offer.

Not for absolute beginners but a very good grounding for people on the second rung and upwards of the Internet marketing ladder.

You only have to spend about ten minutes researching the topic of ‘make money online’ and you’ll find a whole load of garbage written by scam artists, much of it dishonest and some of it downright criminal. So how do you sort out what’s legit, valuable and worth your time and money?

The answer is, you try it. When you first start, you’ll get your fingers burned. You’ll buy some $47 e-book which promises that you can make a fortune sitting at home in your underwear working two hours a week, and they’ll show you some faked proof, and you’ll try it and, after not very long, you’ll realise it’s a scam.

And you’ll discover that you’ve been lied to and conned and you’ve paid your money to a scum-bag. And you’ll find out that there’s little or no protection on the Internet from the sh*te merchants who want to take advantage of your inexperience.

You can tell I’ve been there, and done that, can’t you?
